August is the month to exhibit the colours, the dances and songs of the groups participating in International Folklore Festival, which animates the nights of Portel, in the Dr. França Park.

The PortelAves on of the biggest bird exhibitions in the country, and The Economical Activity Exhibition, where handicraft, and traditional  products are highlighted, an initiative which inters to value, divulge and promote the traditional and cultural activities of the municipality of Potel, take place in the Cerca de S. Paulo.

Exhibitions, popular and traditional music shows, fado, concerts with orchestras and lots of animation fulfil the hot nights of August and besides bringing life to the town attract more and more visitors to Portel.
